In short
- Place
- Laugavegur, Reykjavík
- Surfaces
- Floor and counters
- System
- Medium-grain microcement, three coats of lacquer
Shops on Laugavegur get traffic every day of the year, so the floor has to stand up to wear, salt and wet shoes. The microcement was laid with medium grain and lacquered three times, and it is cleaned with a broom and a damp cloth.
The counters are what give the space its character: angled sides and a long counter by the window, all clad in one piece without joints. The same material on floor and counters makes the room look cast in one.
We plan commercial jobs around the business. The floor can be walked on the day after the last coat of lacquer and is fully cured after a month.
