Epoxy and self-levelling floors: garages, shops and workspaces
Epoxy is the hardest floor we lay: a two-component resin that stands up to cars, oil, salt and jacks. A self-levelling floor is a poured cement floor that gives a perfectly smooth, uniform surface. Both are seamless and easy to clean.

Epoxy for the garage
A concrete garage floor soaks up oil and salt and dusts over the years. Epoxy seals it completely. We grind the concrete, prime it and lay two coats of two-component epoxy, with or without flakes. The result is a hard, glossy or matt floor that is cleaned with a broom and water.
The job takes two days. The floor can be walked on after a day and the car goes in after five to seven days, once the resin has fully cured.
Epoxy also suits utility rooms, storage, workshops and industrial spaces, anywhere the load is highest and the look can stay simple.
Self-levelling floors for shops and workspaces
A self-levelling floor is a cement-based compound that is poured and levels itself. It gives a perfectly smooth surface without trowel marks, and a sealed self-levelling floor is popular in shops, offices and workspaces that need a uniform, calm floor at a good price.
Self-levelling compound is also the base we use when the old floor is uneven and is to get microcement or epoxy on top.
What does an epoxy floor cost?
A garage floor is our simplest job and therefore the cheapest per square metre. The price rises with the condition of the concrete, the number of edges and whether levelling is needed first.

| Epoxy with flakes or a custom colour | Quoted |
| Sealed self-levelling floor in a shop or workspace | Quoted, depends on the floor |
Guide prices including materials, labour and VAT. Example: a 24 m² garage with grinding, primer and two coats is about 280,000 ISK.

Epoxyandlevellingquestions
What needs to be ready before you come?
An empty garage and dry concrete. Oil stains are cleaned and cracks filled during grinding; that is included.
Is an epoxy floor slippery?
Glossy epoxy can be slippery when wet. We add anti-slip to the second coat in garages and entrances.
How long does epoxy last?
In a garage a decade or more with normal use. Wear shows first under the wheels, and a new coat can be laid there.
Can epoxy go over an old painted floor?
Old paint is ground off before priming. Epoxy needs to bond to the concrete itself.
