In a restaurant the wall has to take touching, stains and cleaning, and still be what people notice. The decorative finish was trowelled on in several passes, and the recessed niches light the texture from below.
The timber booths stand against the wall and the finish continues behind them, so nothing is interrupted if the fit-out changes later.
The bar floor is dark microcement with medium grain, lacquered three times. Dark colours show less daily wear, and cleaning is a damp cloth with pH-neutral soap.
